  1. How “required” is Maltese fluency for jobs like these? I’ll be starting a job search in August, and I have started watching the Maltese language videos on youtube & vimeo, but I will not be able to have a conversation for months, or maybe years. For basic office & shop jobs, is Maltese a prereq? Thanks!

    1. Jobs in Bars and Restaurants catering to tourists generally require zero Maltese. Same goes for shops and international companies. However, it certainly wouldn’t do any harm to have a few words and phrases in Malti at your disposal.

  2. I am a UK university student looking into working abroad in Malta for a couple of months during summer 2015, once I have gained as much information as possible about it all. I don’t understand when people are saying about staying on longer from their holidays to work for a while, do you not have to have visa’s or work permits or something already in place if you intend on working in the country as opposed just visiting on holiday? How does it work?

    1. I am assuming that you are from the UK, and not just studying there, in which case I have some good news for you: The United Kingdom is part of a thing called the European Union. So is Malta, and a bunch of other countries. This means that if you want to pack your bags and move to Malta tomorrow, you can do it, no visa required. No work permits needed either.

  3. I am sameer gurung. I’m coming in Malta on 15th july 2015 . i’m coming for my further study . And I need to work in this summer time . I don’t understand how speak English is there’s people & I don’t know where I get the job and how find the job. So I want to know how get the job . please give me a more information .
