One.
Your flight has landed in Dublin Airport, Ireland.
After getting your bags and going through Customs, (it shouldn’t take long), you leave the terminal and see the bus zone on your left.
Walk up to the friendly man in the Aircoach uniform, who will tell you exactly where to go and which bus you need to take for your destination.
When the luxury coach arrives – right on time, as per the electronic display – the driver will help you to put your bags in the storage compartment and takes note of your destination so that he can make sure you are dropped off at the right place.
The journey takes about 45 minutes, but the padded seats are comfortable, and the free wi-fi keeps you amused. At €13 a ticket, it’s not cheap, but you are paying for a premium product.
Premium quality & friendly, but very pricey: Welcome to Dublin!
Two.
Your flight has landed in Luqa Airport, Malta.
After getting your bags and going through Customs, (it shouldn’t take long),you leave the terminal and see the bus zone on your right.
Walk up to a man eating a pastizzi near the random collection of buses which appear to form part of some unofficial vintage coach rally. The man will either shrug and say that he does not know or else tell you the number of a bus and gesture vaguely towards the horizon.
When a 1980s vintage motor-home arrives – right on time, despite what it says on the electronic display – the driver will finish smoking his cigarette and may or may not charge you the price of a ticket to board. He assumes you will know where you are going when you get there.
The journey takes about 45 minutes, but the random late night detour around Ta ‘Qali and the 10 minute wait in Rabat for non-existent customers keep you amused. At €1.20 a ticket, it’s incredibly cheap, so… It’s very very cheap.
Somewhat shambolic & eccentric, but good value: Welcome to Malta!

Hi, just a quick reference about the buses on the Dublin Airport. there are more option and cheaper options that the aircoach:
price one way
Aircoach: 7€
normal Dublin busues
747: 6€
41:3.05€
16:3.05€
The normal busues take maybe 5/10 minutes longer and they are not as fancy as the aircoach but they work pretty well in my opinion 🙂 I only use the aircoach if I land after 11pm .
Another quick note about buses at Dublin Airport: If you catch the one going to Limerick, it’s only €10, and you get a two-hour tour of central Ireland included in the price – and you get to go to Limerick!
I’m gonna start writing a blog about buses at Dublin airport! Good advice from Almudena & Kate above for all you Dublin (and Limerick) bound travellers.
