I think the mark of a really quality restaurant review is the constant repitition of a single – very simple – adjective. As you may have noticed, I have tried to stay true to this principle throughout this site.
The picture on the left shows a fine example of a Maltese Platter, variations of which can be found in restaurants across the island. In this case it includes such local delicacies as: sun-dried tomatoes; olives; maltese sausage; ?bejniet (small sheep’s cheese); and bigilla (mashed bean dip), all served with ftira bread and a glass of local red.(Have you been to Don Mesquita’s? The platter looks so inviting, although personally I’d prefer a ftira..
This is a really good platter! I eat ftiras all the time, so they are less of a novelty at this stage.
