Best Full English Breakfast in Malta?: Sir Alex

Cafe 516 has changed name.  It is now called ‘Sir Alex’, presumably after Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson.  Now I am not a supporter of this football team, being more of an Arsenal man myself, but nonetheless felt duty-bound to check out their full English breakfast.

Look at it.

What the Four Ex is that supposed to be?

I have tried a number of English breakfasts in Malta, with no consideration to personal trans fat ingestion, but I do it because I believe the people need to be informed. I mean, a man’s (or woman’s – I know there are some of you out there) holiday can be disrupted by having to put up with an inferior fry-up to start off your day.  However, my tolerance for rubbish efforts has lowered over the months, to the point where I feel more comfortable in slamming the weaker efforts now: (you know who you are).

As for ‘Sir Alex’, well, this is pretty rubbish.

First off, that’s not a sausage, it’s a hot-dog that got lost on the way to the bun.  Secondly: chips do not belong on the plate of an English breakfast.  They are just a cover-up for mistakes made elsewhere.  The beans were not cooked properly, which is a feat in itself.  Even I can cook beans.

It’s cheap, but it’s only acceptable to the monumentally hungover.

  1. Prices are expensive. And milkshake was disaster – €4.50 – for this price just for a milk shake in Malta you can find cheaper and much better…. I would defiantly not go again…..
