Times Square is a popular pub down on the Sliema seafront. For a beer – absolutely fine. For a delicious breakfast, not so much. I would go so far as to call this offering: Average.
It is a pretty nice location, and you get the above plus toast and coffee for a fiver so you’re not exactly being ripped off. And you can sit outside when the sun is shining, which is always good. We were there on St Patrick’s Day morning, and there were two guys dressed up as leprechauns on the next table, drinking Bavaria and trying to get tourists to sign up for some event at a neigbouring bar. But mainly drinking Bavaria.
So not much else to say about this English breakfast, except maybe you should do as the leprechauns do: Forget the breakfast and go straight for the beer.
Not too bad, a little heavy-handed on the greenery. Or was that in deference to St Patrick’s day? All the same, it’s verging on ‘garnish’…not on my brekkie, thanks.
