Tony’s Bar near the ferry stop in Sliema is a pretty popular spot for a beer or two, and they also do reasonable business with their selection of eatables. The breakfast pictured is an example of same, and is perfectly decent whilst not likely to win any awards for culinary excellence. As should by now be clear to anyone who’s read a few of these reviews, ingredients are key when it comes to making a good full English breakfast. And the ingredients used to make breakfast at Tony’s are not of the first rank. Even from the photo you can tell that these sausages look a bit too good to be true, and here they are cleverly disguising bacon with more fat than is good for you. It’s not bad, just nothing too out of the ordinary either – a pretty run of the mill example of the Maltese take on English breakfasts. Not bad – but not great.
