This is the first of two annual wine festivals held in Valletta over the summer to promote Maltese wines. With a beer festival in-between just in case you find yourself getting thirsty. You pay €10 for a ticket to the Marsovin festival, which is held in Hastings Gardens, Valletta – just go in the main gate and turn left. Your ten euros buys you a small book of vouchers which you can then use to sample glasses of various wines or else splurge most of them on a bottle of wine. As you are given a special Marsovin Festival wine glass when you enter, a lot of people go for the latter option. To accompany your wine guzzling, there are various bands from around the world (mainly the ‘Malta’ bit of the world) and some foodstuffs are available if all that wine is going to your head.
Nice views over the surrounding areas, and you may become a Maltese wine convert after a visit here.
