A new range of pale ales has hit the (selected) shelves in Malta. Hailing from Gozo, this is the Lord Chambray trio of beers – and we felt duty-bound to investigate them on your behalf.
First off: these are pretty expensive, certainly by Maltese standards. We paid €10.35 for the 3-pack, so the local Skol drinkers are unlikely to be tempted. Still, worth a minor splurge once in a while, I mean you’re not going to be able to find these very easily once you’ve left the island.
So how do they taste? Our buy tamoxifen 20 mg favourite is probably the ‘Blue Lagoon’, which is described as fruity and spicy and we found pretty smooth.
‘San Blas’ is the American Pale Ale, which we found had more of a tangy taste to it.
And the third is ‘Golden Bay’, supposedly the ‘easiest drinking’ of the three but probably my least favourite.
Still, all three are definitely worth a taste if you don’t mind paying over the odds. And like I say, if you’re here on holiday it’s pretty much a once in a lifetime chance to try this original Gozitan brew.
