Ancient ruins and museums may prove a little unexciting for your average 5-year-old, so here are a few alternative suggestions:
10.Adventure Playgound (Ta Qali)
This outdoor adventure playground is found in the National Park in Ta Qali, so there are also a couple of museums and craft stores to visit in the vicinity.
9.Ice Skating/Bowling
Not the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Malta, but there is an ice rink every winter in Bay Street, St Julian’s. Also in the Paceville area you will find the Eden Superbowl bowling center all year round, right opposite the cinema.
8.Badger Karting
This race track in Ta Qali (near Mosta) has carts which can reach speeds of 80kph for the speed junkies in the family
7.LWS Animal Park
A smallish animal park with petting zoo in Marsaskala.
6.Playmobil Fun Park
Indoor and Outdoor Playmobil themed fun park in Hal Far. Entry is nice and cheap too, just €1.20 for adults and €2.40 for children aged 1-12.
5. Aquarium
Sharks and a variety of other marine life at the New National Aquarium in St Paul’s Bay. Adults: €12.90; Children 5-12 €6; Children 0-4 Free.
4.Mellieha Beach
One of the largest beaches in Malta, with plenty of golden sand. The water doesn’t get too deep close to the shore, and there are plenty of restaurants and ice-cream vendors around.
It’s a Popeye theme park. What else do you need to know!
2.Splash and Fun Water Park
This is always a winner with the kids. Summer season kicks off in mid-May, when the water slides and wave pools open for business. For the rest of the year it’s an adventure playground.
1.Mediterraneo Marine Park
The chance to swim with dolphins is the big attraction here, and there are also plenty of aquatic shows (Adults €15.90, Children 4-12yrs €9.90, Swimming with dophins €99 to €125 depending on season)
